Arequipa is known as the ‘White City’ and is the second largest in Peru. The fascinating historical centre that you will visit is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site due to the unique mix of European and Peruvian architecture that is styled ‘ ”Escuela arequipeña” or the School of Arequipa.
The Colca Canyon; this stunning Andean valley is a must see. It is more than twice as deep as the Grand Canyon in the United States at 13,650 ft (4,160 m) depth.

Day 1: Arequipa - City Tour
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel the morning is left for your leisure. In the afternoon a tour of the “White City”, including a visit to the Santa Catalina convent (founded in 1579 and recently converted into a museum), the Plaza de Armas. Later, visits to the districts of Cayma and Yanahuara.
Day 2: Chivay - Colca Canyon
Early morning pick up from your hotel for a bus ride to Colca Canyon, drive along the El Misti and Chachani volcanoes takes you to the fertile and picturesque Colca Valley of the Inca Empire.On the way you will have the opportunity to visit the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, Mollepunka prehistoric caves and colourful colonial Indian villages (Callalli and Sibayo). After a brief stop for snack arrival in the town of Chivay, the capital of the Colca Valley. Accommodation at a local lodge.
Day 3: Colca Canyon - Arequipa
Early morning drive to the earth’s deepest canyon. The Colca has twice the depth of the Grand Canyon and far more impressive. En route, visit typical villages with baroque colonial churches and archaeological sites. Proceed to the lookout point, the “Condor Cross”. See condors that nest in the steep canyon walls soaring down to the river where thermal springs spout water. After lunch, visit the medicinal hot springs of “La Calera”, and return to your hotel in Arequipa in the late afternoon.
Day 4: Arequipa
Transfer to Airport for your flight.
